And today we should talk about a must-have app for all those new iOS devices received by students this Christmas: iStudiez Pro. iStudiez Pro is a simple tool for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad that offers students (or anyone who has a recurring schedule) to import their timetable for easy browsing but also add assignments and schedule exams. The idea is simple: making life a little bit more organised for students...
Final words: Overall iStudiez is a very polished and functional app with a great UI to back it up. On the iPad, the app is as functional as it’s smaller counterpart although the real life use seems to be better on the iPhone. One disappointment is that the app is clearly designed with the American schooling system in mind, but I was able to adapt it to a British system easy enough. Attempting to run a two week cycle on the schedule features works fine, but can be messed up if you have a week holiday. If you got a new iOS device over the holidays or have had one for ages, when you head back to school, you must be accompanied with this app.

Intro: The iPhone version of iStudiez won the 2009 Best Education Award, so this new release is a tough act to follow. Although primarily aimed at college students, iStudiez can be equally useful for lecturers keeping abreast of their schedules, or parents trying to juggle younger children’s various commitments. This planner is so versatile...
Final words: And in case you’re at THAT party with THAT pool, at the bottom of which your iPad ends up inexplicably, at least you don’t need to worry about your planner. iStudiez Pro offers you a back up service and will email all your data back to you. Just dry out your iPad first. Don't forget the rice!

Intro: I’m a student at Western Washington University here in Washington State, USA, and I’ve gotta tell you: student life is a friggin’ hassle. You all know what I mean—if you’ve been to college—when I say it’s difficult to remember your assignments, your professors’ office hours, extra class periods, when classes are cancelled, when tests are, how much your midterm counts in your final grade, etc. All of these variables add up to one final, terrible thing, and it goes by the name of stress...
Final words: In spite of the differences between the two platforms, iStudiez Pro is probably my most commonly opened app (besides Tweetie… come on, let’s be realistic). As for how it’s changed my student life, that answer is easy enough: it took something I could barely juggle and put it all in one (two!) streamlined, easy, digitized place that just so happens to always be in my pocket and backpack. Not to mention, it’s gorgeous and it just works. Now, of course, the success of your iStudiez Pro experience rests solely on your willingness to sit down for two hours or so and set it all up at the beginning of each quarter, but it’s worth it; no doubt I’ve gotten better grades solely due to this app being there. My advice would be to give it a try, see if it works out for you; it’s $2.99 for the universal version, and there’s even a lite iPhone version. My bet is you won’t be sorry.

It allows students to monitor their semester schedules, keep track of classes, assignments, as well as their grades – ideally resulting in fewer excuses that instructors may receive when something is missed. It has a large variety of customization options, ranging from colors on the calendar to adjusting the semester length to including information about the professors teaching the course. If you are a student who is finding yourself overwhelmed and unable to keep track of everything, iStudies Pro at .99 might just be able to help you out. Four out of five stars.
