TuneIn Radio for iPad: Music On Demand, Baby!
Intro: TuneIn Radio is easily one of the best apps on my iPad. At the crazy price of $0.99, it still blows away all the other radio apps I’ve tried. In an era where media is increasingly delivered on-demand, TuneIn Radio provides some of that nostalgic radio experience, with all the bells and whistles we expect from our devices today. Listen to local FM stations from around the world, Internet streams and podcasts, or Talk radio. The feature list reads like my grandmother’s grocery lists – oh, delicious anticipation. And boy, it delivers. But the top selling feature for me was hands down the ability to record, so we’ll start there...
Final words: For a dollar, you can’t go wrong. The ability to record – live or by a timer – is a huge advantage over other radio apps. The interface is nice, not overdone. And it’s just a pleasure to use. The downside – not being able to export recordings, and possible battery drainage – are mitigated by the price tag. Intro: There’s no shortage of radio apps on the App Store, but good, inexpensive ones with a large number of station choices are a bit harder to find than most. That’s where TuneIn Radio comes into play. TuneIn provides solid support for Radiotime presets as well as DVR-style controls for rewinding and recording favorite songs and shows...
Final words: TuneIn handles streaming audio (and recording that audio) very well. Considering its low price point of $0.99, and the fact that it’s a universal app, it’s a good choice for anyone looking for a radio app for their iPad and iPhone.

Final words: Unlike the iPhone app it won't keep playing once you exit the app, but we're sure an update will appear when iOS 4.2 for iPad eventually arrives that'll hand you this functionality.

Final words: Here at JOE we are not above paying a few euros for a decent app but TuneIn really is an essential purchase, not only for its incredible feature set but also because it costs just 79c. If you love your radio then there really is no reason not to pick this up.
