Note Taker HDNote Taker HD is a powerful app for writing and organizing handwritten notes, diagrams, etc., on the iPad. It can shrink your writing so you can easily fit a lot of text on a page. You can read the reduced-size "ink" as if you had written those letters with a very fine pen. It gives you solid functionality and control to produce the pages you need. Pages are flexibly organized by tags, date/time last modified, favorites, and more, with a scrolling list of thumbnail images of part of each page to help you find them later. Pages may be grouped together as multiple "sheets". You can email one or more pages as a single PDF file, "Open In" other apps like Evernote and Dropbox, or, if your iPad supports it, print.

Note Taker HD lets you create pages by writing on the screen with your finger or an iPad-compatible stylus. You can either write directly on the page for large drawings, or have the "ink" you write shrunk down. You can write in large letters on the screen rather than trying to make tiny motions like a pencil. You just keep writing and Note Taker HD automatically adds new writing next to the old. To quickly correct mistakes, it has multi-level undo and redo buttons as well as an eraser -- just drag your finger over the page to erase the "ink" under it.

Other features include:

  • Typed blocks of text with optional borders
  • 60+ highly customizable shapes
  • Insert images from Photo Albums, Pasteboard, or the iPad 2 camera
  • Custom backgrounds from images or PDF pages
  • VGA/HDMI support with zoom and pan
  • Wrist guard to avoid inadvertent touches
  • Layout variations better suited to some left-handed users
  • Optional fields in output footers like in a word processor
  • Extensive built-in help
  • Smooth and crisp ink on screen and in PDF output

Note Taker HD (for iPad)

bestreview Intro: Note Taker HD brings flexible, feature-rich note-taking to the iPad and iPad 2 in the form of a $4.99 app. Packing a wide array of note-taking options—multiple line thicknesses, colors, fonts, font sizes, finger-drawing input—plus the ability to import PDFs and insert and crop photos, Note Taker HD is an excellent note-taking iPad app, but the numerous options may intimidate those accustomed to simpler fare, like our other iPad pen- and finger-input Editors' Choice, Penultimate...

Final words: Should You Purchase Note Taker HD? Editors' Choice winner Note Taker HD is a great note-taking tool that does the job nicely, without denting your wallet. The number of features may overwhelm casual users, but anyone looking for a multi-faceted tool for making annotations, diagrams, and doodling will find a lot to like in Note Taker HD.

Review: Note Taker HD

Intro: I’m a writer. I write. Over the course of my scrivening life, I’ve noted, jotted, scribbled, penned, penciled in, composed, corresponded, dashed off, drafted, draw up, dropped a line, inked, scribed, and typed out everything from shopping lists to novels. I write in cars, planes, trains, buses, loos, waiting rooms, jury rooms, delivery rooms, elevators, churches, weddings, funerals, and in my dreams. I’ve written on grocery bags, butcher paper, newspaper margins, toilet rolls, and speeding tickets. I’ve stolen pages out of Steven Covey planners. I once pilfered a stack of pink community bulletins: short story for college. Sorry...

Final words: I want Dan to get the App Store popularity he deserves. My hope is that, with the release of Note Taker HD v3, we can watch his seriously powerful and flexible app climb the charts. I’d like to be impartial here but. . . I’m a writer. I write. But now, I’ve weaned myself off paper (of all stripes) completely. And the world, I assure you, is breathing a confirmed sigh of relief. I’ve got Dan Bricklin’s Note Taker HD safely secured to my iPad dock one icon removed from the App Store. Soon, it may be first and foremost.

Review : Note Taker HD for the iPad

Intro: If you’ve read my columns or reviews before you know I’m very interested in note-taking on the iPad. So far there have been some good and some bad writing apps released by a variety of different developers…..so where does Note Taker HD fit in?...

Final words: So should you give it a try? Well, if you are a real hardcore note-taker, then yes. If you found Penultimate a little bare-bones, then yes. If you like to try many different apps before settling on the one that’s just right for you, then yes. Overall “Note Taker HD” is a solid app for the iPad. It has its drawbacks, it’s not the most eye-candy of apps yet (graphics updates are coming I’ve read), and can come off a little overwhelming at times, but in the end it really gives users the tools needed to create the notes they desire on the iPad. Which, if you hadn’t guessed by the name, Note Taker HD, that is the whole point.

iPad App review: Note Taker HD

Intro: It really does not matter what stage of life you are in. At some point in time, you will need to take notes of some sort. You could be a student or work in an office, and either way, you will need to be able to take down notes -- unless you have an absolutely perfect memory. While many tend to resort to pencil and pad for their note taking, owners of the iPad tablet have an advanced option with the Note Taker HD app. Note Taker HD is basically the ultimate weapon when it comes to taking notes...

Final words: With the amount of features it has to offer, Note Taker HD is a must-have app for iPad owners that need to take notes on a regular basis. Its combination of design, ease of use and flexibility is hard to beat. Since it only costs $4.99, it is well worth the purchase when you consider the cost of pencils and paper pads that will have to be bought in the future. The app takes things a step further, however, in the way that it allows you to manage your notes for easy access and less confusion.

Review: Dan Bricklin's Note Taker HD Puts The "Pad" in iPad

Intro: Note Taker HD, from Visicalc founder and productivity software entrepreneur Dan Bricklin, is a work of art. This is how you should take notes on a tablet. It takes getting used to, but it is ideal for many tasks, and will quickly become a necessity for any iPad owner. Hate, if you must, but the iPad's usefulness skyrockets with every inventive app and every inventive user. For content consumption, consider streaming NetFlix, ABC and Hulu, or reading books (Kindle Reader or iBooks) and that might be enough. But the productivity side is also getting surprisingly interesting. Dan Bricklin's (creator of VisiCalc, the first personal computer spreadsheet program) Note Taker HD, a necessity now for me, lets you take notes with a stylus right on the screen -- I mean, this is a tablet, right?...

Final words: Bricklin is working, as always, at improving the application. Future priorities include the ability to cut and paste from and into Note Taker. And let's say you pasted or imported a picture, you could make that part of the background, or incorporate it into your document, perhaps even adding annotations. Bricklin also said he's working on the ability to send native Note Taker documents between Note Taker users. In other words, this amazing tool is just going to keep getting better. At $4.99, what's not to like.

iPad App Review: Note Taker HD

Intro: Note Taker HD is a fantastic application for the iPad in which you can actually turn the iPad into something where you can make handwritten notes. Of course, there are many iPad Apps available for note taking, although most of them use the iPads on screen keyboard in order to allow you to take notes. Although there is nothing wrong with this at all, sometimes it can be a lot easier to make notes in your very own handwriting simply by scribbling the word that you wish to write on the screen...

Final words: Overall, this app is a fantastic way of making notes on your iPad and although it might still not be quite as quick as using a traditional pen and paper, it allows you to keep your notes organised and is much quicker than using the iPad on screen keyboard. This app is priced at around $5 in the app store which we feel is a good price.

iPad App Review: Note Taker HD

Intro: I’ve downloaded several note taking apps on my iPad, but honestly after checking them out for a couple of minutes, I never get to open them anymore. Maybe it’s because the note taking apps were not enticing enough to convince you into using your iPad for taking down notes, or these apps are not really that useful or maybe because it’s just me – the lazy old guy who never really take down notes during meetings. But that all changed when I tried out this fairly new iPad app called – Note Taker HD...

Final words: If you find yourself attending meetings with those annoying notebooks in tow, you surelly need to get Note Taker HD installed on your iPad. Note Taker HD is available now from the App Store for – $4.99. And if you want more information about Note Taker HD, watched the attached video demo below.

iPad App Review: Note Taker HD

Intro: First, let's talk about the speed advantage that Note Taker HD offers. If you are taking notes for a class or business meeting, and love doing so on the iPad, using the virtual keyboard is a bit unnatural and can tire your hands. Using Note Taker HD allows you to use your finger in a simple handwriting motion to jot things down much quicker. You can also use a stylus if you wish...

Final words: Note Taker HD has more to offer and is really a must if you are a constant note taker. The download is $4.99 and is well worth it, as you would pay more in the long run for regular paper pads.
