Pocket Informant HD

Pocket Informant® is an integrated calendaring and GTD®-based tasks solution for the iPad. Our purpose is to fuse together best-of-class calendaring with best-of-class tasks into one great solution.

We love our iPads, but we saw some untapped potential for a full-featured PIM. Pocket Informant fills that gap. To start with, we made navigation very natural - simply swipe between the months, or tap the calendar on the left page. You can assign icons to individual events or tasks or use our original TimeBar style to see a visual description of your day, week, or month. When looking at a day’s activities, we show you your appointments AND tasks together, and we give you nearly the entire screen to see them. We offer a convenient view to quickly see activities going on "today", and we built a great week view as well.

For years, these and numerous other features have made Pocket Informant a must-have application for school teachers, soccer moms, salesmen and executives alike. Pocket Informant won "Best of Show 2011" at MacWorld Expo 2011!

  • Today, Month, Week, Column Week, Agenda, Task, and Search views, swipe between Months, Days, and Weeks

Pocket Informant Hits the iPad — A Review

bestreview Intro: Pocket Informant may be one of the longest running apps for handheld devices. Austin-based WebIS has been distributing the integrated Personal Information Manager (PIM) program since long before the smartphone was around. The program has evolved over the years and has finally come to the iPad in the form of Pocket Informant HD. Pocket Informant (PI) brings integrated calendaring and task management to the big touchscreen. More importantly, it brings background syncing with desktop clients and the cloud...

Final words: Pocket Informant HD has only been out for a day, and I’ve been using it since I bought it. I have shared how I use the iPad as my electronic organizer, and PI has taken over that role already. I fire up the app and head to the Today tab to get a feel for what to expect from my day. I bounce between the calendar and tasks tabs as needed. It is so much better having both of these critical functions integrated in one program. It was getting tiring bouncing between two apps to do the same thing previously. PI is available in the App Store for $6.99, but will go up to the normal price of $12.99 soon.

Pocket Informant HD Review for iPad

Intro: Once you get busier and busier with life, memorizing events or to-do lists inside your head is no longer a good idea. You can use a bunch of web services or even sticky notes to record and remind you of such events. For example, I used to use Google Calendar solely to remind me of upcoming events and my future to-do reminders. Then I started using Toodledo to create my to-do lists. As of now, I use a combination of Google Calendar and Toodledo for different needs...

Final words: Even if you don’t, Pocket Informant HD is still a powerful application to have, especially because it can combine the best of both worlds: Google Calendar and Toodledo. I’ve been using both before I installed Pocket Informant HD so I was really grateful of this application. My only complain so far is probably the amount of time it takes to synchronize with Google Calendar and Toodledo when the application is opened, but this can be improved in future patches.

Directly Sync Your Outlook With Pocket Informant HD

Intro: Pocket Informant HD by Web Information Solutions, Inc. is a highly popular calendar sync and task management productivity app for the iPad. You will never need another getting things done app in your life...

Final words: What I liked: The fact that Pocket Informant syncs with Outlook is invaluable. The app is easy to use and has all the right features for a proper task management tool. Web Information Solutions, Inc. is always updating the app based on user requests and will continue to add more features like MobileMe syncing and contacts syncing in the future. What I didn’t like: You cannot sync Outlook if you are not on the same wi-fi network as your desktop. This may not be something that can be fixed. It is just the nature of technology. I’m sure the company is working to find a way to allow over-the-air direct syncing of Outlook and will include it in an update when it happens. To buy or not to buy: This task management app is a definite buy. At $14.99, you are getting a bargain.

Pocket Informant HD (Calendar & Tasks) Review - Feature-rich app turns iPad into a personal info manager

Intro: Like its baby brother for the iPhone, Pocket Informant HD for iPad is an impressively panoptic app. The $7 productivity and time management app from Web Information Solutions encompasses feature-rich calendaring to-do list tools, in an attempt to turn your iPad into a true personal information manager...

Final words: I liked the iPhone version of Pocket Informant, but I didn’t love it. Its broad functionality felt a bit fussily cramped on the iPhone’s small screen. On the iPad, everything feels a bit better designed and flows more naturally. I haven’t touched on oodles of features the app offers—TextExpander integration, the ability to e-mail/import backups between iOS devices, and more. If you carry an iPad and feel like your life could benefit from organization, Pocket Informant HD is definitely worth a look.

iPad App Review: Pocket Informant HD

Intro: Much like with the iPhone, there are new apps added to the app store for the iPad each day and these apps have a variety of jobs. Also, if you have an iPad, you will know that it actually comes with a calendar application installed, much like the iPhone, however, a lot of third party developers have believed that they can actually make a better job of the calendar app than Apple and have begun creating new calendar applications for the device. When it comes to iPad apps in this area, you will be spoilt for choice and you might end up just sticking with the calendar app that comes with the device, however, one great choice is Pocket Informant HD for the iPad...

Final words: Overall, this is a great app if you are looking for something to keep your life organised. There are hundreds of features in this app and to see them all, you really need to download it now. The app is just $6.99 from the app store, which we think is a fair price.

iPad App Review: Pocket Informant HD

Intro: Pocket Informant is not an entirely new app to the Apple scene. It was previously released for the iPhone and became quite popular for its long list of features. With the HD release, Pocket Informant's developers were able to take advantage of the iPad's larger screen and processing power to make the app even more juicy for its users...

Final words: At $6.99, it's not completely cheap, but it is a time saver and can keep your life together. As they say, “time is money.”

iPad App Review of Pocket Informant HD

Intro: The iPad, while a fun device, is not meant only to entertain. It can also make you more productive and help you keep your life organized. While there are several apps that cater to organization, it's tough to sift through them all and determine which ones work the best. One such app, however, is Pocket Informant HD. The app not only simplifies the daily juggling and remembering of tasks, but it does so with a clean, simple, user-friendly interface...

Final words: Of course, Pocket Informant HD comes with many more features than the ones listed. If you think of almost every feature you would want in an organizational tool, it probably has it. Pocket Informant HD is not one of the cheapest apps available, as it costs $6.99. Still, that's not bad when you consider the time it could save you by keeping you on top of all of your important tasks and appointments.
