According to the latest rumors Apple will duplicate the capacity of the battery in iPad 3, but we can expect other changes as well. Some rumors say maybe two types of iPad will be available this year. Of course, as usual we can hear a lot of unrealistic rumors about Apple's next generation products. This time it's specially true for iPad 3 news, which are published primarily by DigiTimes. Let's see the most recent speculations about iPad 3.
The current 6600 mAh battery capacity will grow up to 14000 mAh, but this is not confirmed by neither Simplo Technology nor Dynapack.
The most interesting among many controversial rumors is the following question: how will Apple respond to the successful start of Amazon Kindle? The question is whether Apple wants to compete in this price category at all? If the answer is yes, the next question is whether it could be a tablet with a smaller display or whether Apple will keep the previous generation iPad 2 on the market as they did in their strategy with iPhone?
The latter is the most likely scenario, though there were rumors about a cheaper 'iPhone mini', but with the presence of the fifth generation iPhone (4S) Apple could also keep the previous two generations of iPhone (4 and 3GS) on the market with a favorable price. We can expect such a situation in the case of iPad as well.
The previously incurred plans of a 7.85" panel were cancelled or they might never have existed, only in rumors. Instead, iPad 3 will be equipped only with a 9.7" display panel with QXGA resolution (1536x2048). This will be produced by Sharp, Samsung and LG. Samsung will be the manufacturer of the A6 chip as well, which will be present in the new iPad 3 tablet. The resolution of the new cameras will be 5-8 megapixel, which will be produced by Samsung and Sony.
According to DigiTimes Apple will announce the new iPad 3 at the MaxWorld Expo on 26th January, but Apple hasn't been there for two years, and there are no indications that this year there will be anybody representing Apple.
